First and foremost, ASE modules are built to be intuitive to use, even without any documentation. For modules that are more complex, comprehensive documentation will be provided so that you likely will have very minimal need for direct support.

Secondly, ASE is here for the long run, and selling lifetime licenses with lifetime support is just not a sustainable model. Other products may only offer lifetime license for a limited period during launch or special seasons, but ASE will try to always offer a lifetime license with the above support policy as a trade-off. When the one-year support period has ended, you can purchase one of the paid support plans (listed above). Alternatively, you can always purchase the annual license if you think you'll need ongoing support.

Finally, you'll still be able to report bugs, errors and share any general feedback via your account's support form even after your one-year support period is over. While they are not guaranteed any replies, they'll be used to improve ASE further, which will benefit lifetime license holders as well.

So, the commitment is still the same, to keep improving and polishing ASE so it can streamline your workflow even further, saving you time and effort and allowing you to do more with the sites you manage for many years to come. ASE's support policy is just one aspect of this commitment.
